2013 BMW ActiveHybrid 5: Officially Launched
This past few days the battle for the bragging rights for having a vehicle that is powerful but very fuel-efficient started. BMW, Toyota, and Lexus started their presence on that approach by showing their very impressive vehicles, and introducing new-technology and standards that other automaker kinda overlook — still busy manufacturing engine that still fully dependent on gasoline and diesel and I'm wondering what is their research and development are doing to innovate their companies.
Anyway, in terms of hybrid technology, Toyota and Lexus still have the edge; this past week, Toyota introduced TS030, their hybrid racing car and Lexus launches their luxurious hybrid, the Lexus GS450H — powerful yet efficient right?
BMW also introduced and impressed us with their vehicles that are powerful — I mean powerful —yet very efficient — I love their triple-turbo diesel variant.
And today, BMW will yet again impressed us with their official launched of the 2013 BMW ActiveHybrid 5; based on BMW Series 5 model that is fully hybrid, making it another first for the automaker.
A twin-turbo inline-six/straight-six engine layout, equipped with VALVETRONIC technolgy, 3.0 litres engine displacement, and has an output of 306hp at 5800 rpm and 400Nm of Torque; the electric motor has has an output of 55hp and 210Nm of torque. With total power output on both engine of 340hp and a torque of 340Nm you will definitely go wrong with it, because of power, fuel-efficiency, plus luxury. Data on its fuel consumption, it has a 6.4–7.0 litres/100 kilometres or 40–44 mpg imp — an impressive engine.
Other impressive fuel-efficient technology equipped in this car are the ECO mode, Start-stop function, and Coasting mode.
Start-stop function do, is when the vehicle is at full-stop, the engine will automatically turn-off, but still maintaining it climate inside using a stationary climate-control, as if the car was running; the ECO Mode supports a particularly fuel-efficient driving style and makes more frequent use of all-electric mode by modifying the characteristics of the powertrain, including the transmission, while the electrically powered convenience functions are set for optimal efficiency; and the Coasting mode do is, it shuts-down the internal-combustion engine and disconnects it from the driveshaft making fuel-efficient.

So if you are looking for a powerful yet very fuel-efficient car, maybe you can look on this one.
Hope to see more of these vehicle this 2012.
2013 Lexus GS250, GS350, and GS450 officially launched - Asian Market
Yesterday, BMW launched their powerful line-up of vehicles that have an impact in automotive industry by introducing "powerful yet fuel-efficient" approach and introducing new standards in terms of technology that will leap them ahead. The introduction of "powerful yet fuel-efficient" approach is the name of the game this 2012 by the automakers. Besides BMW, Toyota also introduced that kind of approach by launching its weapon in motorsport, the TS030 Hybrid which Toyota will make another mark in the field of hybrid cars.
This week, Toyota's luxury line Lexus also launches their new vehicle line up, the new GS series. One of their model will make another mark by using the approach of "powerful yet fuel-efficient" vehicles. Their vehicles are 2013 Lexus GS250, 2013 Lexus GS350, and the introduction of a powerful hybrid GS450H.
GS models will have three variants to choose from, although having one engine spec, but it will differ from features and price package; variants are Version L, F-Sports, and I-Package.
2013 Lexus GS 250
This will be their entry level luxury-car in the GS series. It will be equipped with a 4GR-FSE, V6 layout, 2.5 displacement, and gasoline-fed engine; with an output of 200+ horsepower transferred on its rear-wheels — in short, this vehicle is a rear-wheel drive; and will have a 6-speed Automatic Transmission — Super ECT/ Super Electronically Controlled Transmission. The vehicle will be available in three variants; Version L, F-Sports, and I-Package. The F-Sports variant will introduced the Lexus Dynamic Handling system (LDH) feature that will provide cruising ability in high-speed — smells like a Hyundai Genesis sedan there, and I love to see this vehicle running in Wangan to see the technology will handle the demand of the road.
2013 Lexus GS 350
Lexus GS 350 is their mid-range vehicle for those buyers who wants a little bit more space and power. The said model will be equipped with a 2GR-FSE, 3.5 displacement, V6-layout, gasoline-fed engine; with an output of 300+ horsepower. The said vehicle will be offered in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive layout. The 2013 Lexus GS 350 will be available in three variants; Version L, F-Sports, and I-Package.
2013 Lexus GS 450
The GS 450 will be the high-end and flagship of the GS models. Lexus GS 450 will be powered by 2GR-FXE, 3.5 displacement, V6-layout, gasoline-fed engine, with a total output of 340+ hp and having a torque of 400+ NM on both engine and electric motor. The said vehicle will be offered in rear-wheel drive layout. The 2013 Lexus GS 450 will be available in three variants; Version L, F-Sports, and I-Package.
Other great feature of the Lexus GS series are, some of the components installed in the vehicle is made from organic materials; for example, the engine-cover for the Lexus GS250 made from bagasse (sugar cane residue after juice), its door trim are from kenaf (an annual plant of the mallow) — similar to Mercedes Benz adopting Banana materials for its A-Series models. Once again, an innovation by introducing organic materials.
The said models will be available this coming March.

2013 BMW X6 Officially Released - Asian Market
Unique - and now more exceptional than ever: the new BMW X6.
On all models that BMW launched, their latest model is definitely will be the ultimate driving machine. Power, fuel-efficient, and an introduction of new systems on the vehicle are factors why choose this model.
The BMW X6 will available in gasoline-fed and diesel-fed engine with an engine layout of straight-6 or inline-6 and V-8. On the BMW X6 gasoline-fed engine side, the varieties are; on the gasoline-fed engine, a V8 BMW X6 xDrive50i will have a power-output of 407 bhp and the straight-six or inline-six BMW X6 xDrive35i will have a 306 bhp; what I like about the diesel version of BMW X6 is that, BMW will offer twin-turbo, common-rail direct-inject engines to the consumer— fuel-efficient but powerful; it will be offered in inline-6 layout for models BMW X6 xDrive40d and BMW X6 xDrive30d, having an output of 306 bhp and 245 bhp respectively.
Now, for those BMW adrenaline-junkie out there, an M version will be offered for both diesel and gasoline engine. For the gasoline variant, the BMW X6M will have a V8 engine layout that will have a power-output of 555 bhp, it will be equipped with a 6-speed M Sport automatic transmission — compared to the other model variants that has an 8-speed sports transmission; and to be unique with the other variants, this model will be having its own suspension technology. The diesel variant of the M series is very impressive; the inline-6/straight-six BMW X6 M50d will be equipped with three-turbochargers as a standard— first in the world—and has a power-output of 381bhp, with a monstrous torque of 740NM.
And last will be the introduction of LED headlights and tailights as a standard to to all their variants, compared to the HID Xenon lights that still offers to other automakers.
So if you are thinking of buying and looking for a powerful vehicle, then look no further.

Toyota Unveils TS030 Hybrid
Toyota was the one perfected the mass-production of hybrid cars in the market by introducing Toyota Prius back in 2000, beating the Honda hybrid that time.
Audi perfected the first fuel-efficient racing car by introducing its diesel LM cars in 24hr Le-Mans, putting them to the podium. Toyota also introduced a fuel-efficient racing car on an old GT-500 Denso Toyota Supra, converting it to a hybrid. A potential winning strategy for an endurance race by minimizing the pit-stop of the race car for refuel.
Today, Toyota will again made their mark in fuel-efficiency by introducing their hybrid LM racing car that will compete in Le-Mans 24hrs; Toyota Racing's TS030 Hybrid.
The introduction of this racing car will definitely change the world of motorsports and Toyota will pioneer that.
The said car is the predecessor of iconic Toyota TS010 and TS020 which participated in Le-Mans with podium success in the 90's — The term "TS" in the codename means Toyota Sports.
