2011 Philconstruct Expo: Truck Spotting and Heavy Equipments

The PhilConstruct Expo is an event in the Philippines where companies like construction, heavy equipment, and housing industry are showcasing their products. It is also an opportunity for the visitors to take a glimpse of their new products that will be offered to the market especially in heavy equipment.

This would be the first time that I went to the said event. Held in SMX Convention Center last week — from November 9 to November 12. My first impression on the event when I entered the floor, it's like a carshow of trucks and heavy equipment, there is also an actual demonstation of their products. A variety of Chinese truck brands where present at the event, this would be also the first time that I saw their actual products here in the Philippines; they are CNHTC-Sinotrucks and Chenglong trucks.

CNHTC-Sinotrucks. The said company displayed their Howo series model; the design especially of their Howo A1 model is similar to those Lorry in Europe like Volvo. The company is loacted in Jinan city, Shandong Province, P. R. China. Here are some of the images of the trucks.

Chenglong Trucks; is another Chinese truck manufacturer that also made its appearance at the event and displaying their models. Here are some images of Chenglong Trucks.

The mainstream Chinese brands like JAC and Foton also displayed their trucks on the event — this would be the first that I saw their actual trucks on display. Here are some of the images of Jac and Foton's truck models.


Korean Brand Hyundai Motors or Hyundai Trucks was also at said event, they brought a different models of trucks especially in the construction industry and logistics. Here are some images of Hyundai Trucks.

Another Korean brand was also present at the event. I think this would be a joint venture of Korean and Indian Company, the TATA-Daewoo trucks. Here are some of the images of the TATA-Daewoo Novuus.


Japanese Trucks like Isuzu and Hino was also present at the event showcasing their products. Here are some images of HINO's 700 series trucks and Isuzu's cyz series trucks which you can see in the Philippine roads.

Of course Trucks brands from Europe shows their presence at the event. Brands like MAN and Volvo showcase their powerful trucks. Here are some of the images of MAN trucks and Volvo Trucks.

At the event, one brand caught my attention and that is Komatsu; they showcase and demonstrate their Hybrid Excavator or Hybrid Backhoe. Here are the images of the Hybrid Excavator. This heavy construction equipment is definitely a must-have for companies who are after fuel-efficieny.

Interesting and humble brand was at the event is the KAMA trucks. The engine of their product is very "tropicalize" in the Philippine set-up. Their strategy is the same with Toyota which you can buy parts anywhere even in a small stores. Very interesting is their price, they are lower compare to competitor especially the FB models. The said event was very successful, hope exhibitor got clients and did closed some deals. I'll definitely going to visit this event next year. This is a have for truck lovers.

While I'm stuck on a waiting shed somewhere in Manila last weekend, finally I saw it once again, I think the only GT Express or UV express 2010/2011 Toyota Innova that renders its service to commuters.
