Jose Gerard Policarpio Reigns Over The 2015 Nissan PlayStation GT Academy Asian Race Camp
Guess everyone in the motoring industry and car community in the Philippines are celebrating that a Filipino bagged the overall winner of the 2015 Nissan PlayStation GT Academy Asian Region this month held in Silverstone, in United Kingdom.
Taking the Trophy is not that easy as the Indonesian driver Andika Rama is a fast driver too. What happened it was, somwhere in lap 4-8, Joward — Jose Gerard's nickname, overtake Andika due to a fatal mistake when he overshoot an Apex.
This is where Joward started to attack Andika, when the car of Andika somewhat committed a fatal error in making a turn. Resulting that he overshoot an apex to giveway to Joward from the Philippines
You will see at the cam that Andika overshoot at the Apex that provided Joward an opportunity to overtake him until the last lap
From that mistake, the Indonesian driver is aggressive to take the pole position as he cuts his time to a 2 of a milliseconds driving Joward pressured. However, the Filipino driver keeps his pace and his rhythm calm until Lap 9 as you can see at the image below that they are bumper to bumper and neck-to-neck in closing the race. However, the Filipino reign supreme at the end of the race.
After that race, a victory party held at the 22 bar and resto in Jupiter Makati for the top 6 racers who arrived from the United Kingdom.
Wearing the signature Mustard Yellow which is the color of the car that was used in the race.

Finally, the quest for the Philippine drivers who will represent our country is finally over as Six racers will be sent to the prestigious Silverstone in the United Kingdom — or the British GP track — next month; to race with other representative from other countries. To be honest, this will the first time in the history selecting new-breed of racers was screened using a video game platform, instead of the traditional individual who are rich, or big connection inside the industry.
The quest for skilled drivers in the Philippines started on March 25th of this year. It was swarmed by 15,000 Filipino driver from all over the archipelago during the 3-month time. The 20 contestant will faced physical challenge, as they will be made to hurdle tests such as the sergeant jump, planking, push-ups, and bleep test. A driving challenge mentored by the legendary Filipino racer and brother of the late Pochollo Ramirez, Mr. George Ramirez; which initial result will be tallied.
After that gruelsome training, all twenty finalist will go through the pods again, where they will go another round of time-attack trials for three rounds. They will be timed on their best lap-time, consistency and super pole times. Afterwards, the finalist will face a panel interview by the selected members of the media as part of the personality assesment. On that, they will select Six racers who will be sent to the UK to faced other representative from other Asian countries; and this time, they will use a real car instead of a pod, which our representative already has an edge on it.
Mr. Terence Lallave is already well know in the racing scene, both real-life and virtual racing.
Serving also their coach, at the same time the one who announced the top-six at the event is no other than the Lotus F1 Junior Team race car driver Marlon Stockinger.
"While I am happy to share my knowledge and experience in racing, nothing beats the contestants determination and drive succeed in this demanding sports" — Marlon Stockinger.
For his part, Nissan Phillipines, Inc. President and Managing Director Antonio Zara said "We are happy to be giving aspiring racers and games the opportunity to turn their dreams into reality. By democratizing motorsports in the country, we help fast-track the dreams of more potential Filipino racers to reach the international racing arena".
