We all know that Rhys Millen was the one who popularized Hyundai Genesis as drifting car in the US and on the web. But, the car was manufactured in South Korea and I don't see any video of drifting scenes in South Korea; there are some, but not concrete as the drift videos of United States and Japan.
I am glad that I saw videos like this; well, besides video from D1 and Formula D of Japan and US. The videos are homegrown focusing only in Hyundai Genesis; modification and the driving style are authentic South Korean style.
Hope to see pimped Hyundai Starex or blinged Korean SUV, Korean style.

2012 Honda CRV - Japanese Version for Asian/European Market
Please be patient while the video is buffering.
Finally the official image and video of the Japanese version of Honda CR-V is already released. We all know that the US version was the first to be released their images, and the date of of the official release of their model will be next week. But, problem is, the said version will not reached the ASIAN showrooms which I think that we have a problem there, or if you are going to buy one, you need to go to the gray market.
Videos of the 2012 Honda CRV - US Version
(Please be patient while the video is streaming.)
2012 Honda CRV Japanese Version
Honda did modification on the vehicle especially its design — The aerodynamics. Times like these where fuel-efficient is the name of the game; Honda lowered the overall height of the 2012 CRV body, a smooth appearance of its front, and a new tailight was very apparent on this vehicle — to eliminate drag or resistance that may cause additional load to the vehicle. The design was tested on a wind-tunnel which is also used by the Engineers in Formula-1 when developing the bodies of their cars. It is very apparent that if you saw an actual 2012 Honda CRV, the first impression would be that the vehicle is small. But, don't be deceived because once you are already inside you will be amazed that the interior is roomy — Same concept in the 2012 Honda Civic.
2012 Honda CRV Japanese Version — Engine
The vehicle comes with two engine option. The first one would be a 2.0 liter front-wheel drive — R20A Engine —and a 2.4 liter all-wheel drive — K24A Engine; if you are going to use this one for city-living, I'll choose the 2.0 liter engine. Quite dissapointed though because I'm expecting a new engine from Honda that they will introduced on this model — Like a diesel engine? But, a CVT or Continuous Variable Transmission is offered only in the 2.0 engine, compare to the 2.4 that still offers an automatic transmission — Kinda gas-guzzler for me though.
2012 Honda CRV Japanese Version — Features and Amenities
One thing that I like about this vehicle is the push-start key button as a standard — as if you are inside of a racing car and a sleek design on its dashboard.
I hope that Honda Philippines will bring this model "as-is" No strip-down of accessories and going to sell them separately. I'll also recommend to hold your budget if you are eyeing for a new CRV, just wait for this model to arrive in showrooms and not to be fooled by the sales-agent that they have already the 2012 Honda CRV in which they fail to deliver, all just a promise just to cope up with their sales.
Happy Shopping for a new vehicle!!

Accessorizing your Toyota Fortuner
First generation Toyota Fortuner, image reference only.
The demand for the 2012 Toyota Fortuner is rising — Everynight I'll see a transporter carrying loads of 2012 Toyota Fortuner which are to be delivered to the customers who ordered and patiently waited for their arrival.
So, you already have that dreamed Toyota Fortuner, or you had already and you want to do something about it and you want to add a little spice on it. You have an option; if you want to upgrade the sound-system, a show-car type, or modify it to the rugged off-road look. If you are living in an urban-area and you are using it as a daily-driven vehicle, I recommend to choose the sound-setup— modifying its audio system and installing subwoofers —and show-car type setup.

One thing that is a must for all enthusiast whenever they are going to pimped their cars is to change its wheels, or "shoes" — urban word in the US. From a descent 17-19" rims used for off-road, or 20-22" blinged-rims as shown in hip-hop videos.
One of the most popular and the easiest way to tricked-out your Toyota Fortuner is setting up its audio-system at the same time having it blinged — Changing the wheels with chrome finished rims.
Investing on massive subswoofers, high-end speakers and headunits, and high-wattage amplifiers are way to go.

Here are some videos of a sound-setup, at the same time blinged Toyota Fortuner that I saw in a car-show here in the Philippines. This Toyota Fortuner is using a Firland Audio; and observed that its using a clear-light tailight which was customized. Notice also the paint, the paint here are in pearl option.
Addition to those modification installing a Toyota Fortuner bodykits is also an option; this will definitely be an eye-catcher on the road, at the same time to girls.

So this are some option that you can do with you 2012 Toyota Fortuner. Goodluck with your project and safe driving.

All-Aluminum 1965 Ford Mustang GT350 with Nissan RB Series Engine
The last time that I heard of an all-aluminum body car that was crafted by a Filipino was a Toyota Corona RT140 chassis on a Nissan SR20DE engine competing in a drift event.
This video was taken way back in 2009 in drift-event; video was taken by my friend.
This 2011, another car was transformed its body to all-aluminum state; that car was an iconic and a beast, a 1965 Ford Mustang GT-500 model. This car is owned by a known journalist here in the Philippines. This is his project-car.
History of this car was; the owner got this car on a pig-pen, in a bad-body situation — I mean the car was already decapitated with rust and the only the resolution is for pattern purposes to the material that they going to used to the body. Challenged because someone told him that Filipino's cannot do it; so, he pursue to transform this heavy beast into a lightweight form .
One thing that I'm dissapointed is the engine; they used an RB series engine which is found on Nissan Skyline models — at least they've used a used V8 engines from previous models of Mustang. Maybe the owner is following the foostep of the Mustang in Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift movie. But still, it is all-aluminum body Mustang which is very rare.
Hope I can see rare modification in the future though.

Accessorizing your Honda’s Interior
Honda has been producing some of the most popular passenger cars in the world for many years, not to mention many top-selling vehicles of other types such as the Honda CRV. One of the reasons frequently cited for these persistently high sales is the tremendous number of repeat customers who purchase vehicles only if they have that Honda nameplate attached. Repeat business has been a result of customer satisfaction, particularly with low vehicle price points, sleek designs, and good fuel efficiency. Still, even with added features such as digital dash displays and other modern add-ons, Civics, Accords, and other Honda vehicles aren’t typically tricked out in their interiors as much as higher-end vehicles and luxury cars are. Fortunately, with some intelligently applied aftermarket upgrades, you can spice up your Honda’s interior space in no-time.
Let’s say you own a Civic and want to use some well-placed Honda car accessories to improve your car’s interior. Since a Civic is quite small, using internal storage systems can help to maximize interior space. While you can certainly load a lot into your truck, storage unit accessories can help you collect odds, ends, and other loose articles and keep them tightly packed for a neater inside space in your car. To help keep your car’s interior cleaner, use a roof rack or other exterior storage accessory in order to keep the interior less clogged with items that don’t need to be within the cabin at any particular time.
Other Honda car accessories are more useful if you own an older Accord, Civic, or other Honda vehicle. Over time, interior upholstery can degrade, whether it’s from overexposure to sunlight throughout the years, rips and tears in the fabric, or something else entirely like juice and soda stains. For a full-blown fix that is somewhat prohibitively expensive, you can go ahead and install brand new seats. Just remove the stock Honda seats and install a set you like, such as brand new Honda racing seats. If you’d rather save money and tons of effort, however, simple Honda seat covers would do. Just find a set in the style you desire, get them measured to the dimensions of your car’s seats, and snugly place them over the current seats in your car. That way, you can dramatically improve the appearance of your car’s interior without draining half your bank account doing so. Nice touches such as designer shift knobs, interior LED lighting, and replacement floor mats can also help finish off the upgraded look.
Just in case appearance and storage aren’t issues in your car’s case, there’s another commonplace issue that may need to be resolved, and can be done so rather easily. Sometimes, Honda interiors, like the interiors of most other vehicles, can begin to smell over time. Whether its general dinginess or the specific smell of rotted fruit melted into the car’s interior carpet, you don’t want to have to deal with unfortunate scents for longer than necessary. Bad smells can not only ruin your daily driving experience, but they can seriously devalue your car’s worth come resale time.
To avoid said results, you can use an air freshener for more minor smells, and replacement upholstery, floor mats, and more for more serious ones. Sometimes, you simply need to enhance your car’s ventilation system as well. By removing mildew floor mats, improving that interior ventilation, and stringing an air freshener around the windshield mirror, you won’t have to bear the burden of a smelly Civic or other Honda interior again, as oftentimes that issue is worse to deal with than any storage issue or lack of aesthetic appeal.

BMW body with Chevrolet Corvette LS3 Engine: BMW Corvette Series 3 (E46)
One that I am glad and made my day is this car at the 2011 Manila Auto Salon. A BMW Series-3 (E46) with a Corvette LS3 engine swap. At first I thought this would be another BMW show-car at that event; but, out of curiousity I checked the engine bay of it. I'm looking on the engine a BMW badge or an RB25DETT Nissan engine because this car is a drift car and compete in drift competition here in the Philippines. Instead of a BMW or Nissan badge inside, a shocking "Corvette LS6" word engrave on the cover.
Oh my, a Chevrolet Corvette C6 engine was installed on a BMW E46 chassis. This would be the first time and I think the only engine swap that I heard and saw here in the Philippines and I am assuming in ASIA as well — There is still true old car enthusiast still alive in these times besides me of course and the Australians. So I talked to the owner of the car, how did he do it?
The story began when he was informed that there was a wrecked Chevrolet Corvette C6 that was placed in a yard in the US. Because those kind of engines are very fast to dissapear or to dispose on those places, without second thought, he purchased the engine and shipped here in the Philippines instantly. What I like about American engines especially their monster engines are, they are straight-forward and simple to install with a minimal conversion compare to other engine manufacturers from Europe or in Japan which require specific procedures and complicated conversion but still acquiring that big horsepower — That's why I like the engine modification of Australians because the engines that they are using are from American manufacturers.
Because it is a simple and straight engine conversion, procedures that was made on the car and with the engine were customized engine bracket, Chevrolet Corvette C6 wiring and harness, BMW M3 propeller-shaft, BMW M5 rear-differentials, Chevrolet Corvette ECU, and because we all know that this engine has a strong torque and I'm sure that the BMW chassis will definitely cannot handle it and will tear apart, they reinforced the body to make sure it can handle the demand of the engine.
When you go inside of the cockpit, another world will be introduced to the driver; because this is a drift-machine, do not expect any luxurious feature and amenities that BMW provide to their consumers. Bucket-seats, roll-cage, and more are the amenities of the car; but, still retaining its dashboard from the original BMW E46 model. Producing a 600 horsepower and 500+ NM of torque at whopping 2800 rpm will definitely satisfied your adrenaline needs.
Here is the video of the said car:
I hope I can see this kind of setup and car-modification in other carshows here in the Philippines. This car definitely already made my day.

Hyundai Genesis 2.0 Turbo: Sound-setup spotted @ 2011 Manila Auto Salon
One thing that I have high expectation in every car-show events is someone will exhibit a Hyundai Genesis, whether engine modded, clean detailed, or sound-setup. At the 2011 Manila Auto-Salon, I've spotted one and the only Hyundai Genesis that gone through a modification; they setup the audio system on this one.
If you look at the back, it is very apparent that this Hyundai Genesis is ment for sounds because the trunk has no extra space for grocery bags.
On the engine department, the owner of this car bought the turbo version as compared to other Hyundai Genesis owner of a natural-aspirated V6. A Rockford-Fosgate amplifier, JVC headunit, and Kicker Speakers was used on this car. That time, the staff of this exhibitor plays a track by Rihanna — Rude Boy. Factory rims was used on this car.
With the tremoring its bass at the floor, this setup would definitely a show-stopper or eye-catcher when you hit the road.

Highly-Modified 2007 Honda Civic FD Turbo @ 2011 Manila Auto Salon Philippines
Walking around at the event staring at those honda civics which is very common in every car-shows and even on the road once you see them.
I just stare at this blue Honda Civic again at the floor. I noticed an aluminum plate below — thought it was a radiator because the engine bay of this car was all stuffed that there are no room for the radiator cap to see.
Out of nowhere I saw the intake with an engrave of a vtec turbo plus a dyno graph on the floor. So I was curious because all of the Honda Civics at the event maybe this one will stand out the herd. When I asked the personnel to take a look on the dyno-graph; I was shocked because this car produce a staggering 527.93 horsepower at the wheels and a 365 Newton meter of torque to the fact that this car is daily driven car. This would be a perfect sleeper car; don't be deceive with its eye-catching paint and Volks TE-37 wheels — Oh, by the way those kits was also imported from Japan as per advise by their personnel. Inside of this monster is equipped with the following parts; an engine of a K20A type R engine,
a BorgWarner ball-bearing 650 turbo — this turbos are used in german cars like Porsche, Volkswagen and other European cars, nice taste by the owner when it comes to turbo and the turbo almost covered the whole space of its engine room; Wiseco 86mm low compression lightened pistons, Wiseco piston rings, Eagle H-beam lightened chrome connecting rods, balanced TODA Racing K20a crankshaft, TODA Racing connecting rod race bearings, TODA Racing VTEC Killer Stage-3 camshaft, TODA Racing camgears, TODA Racing retainers, TODA Racing valve-springs, TODA Racing cylinder-head gasket, TODA Racing heavy-duty timing-chain — this modification is wicked, TODA Racing heavy-duty timing-chain tensioner, Skunk2 pro-series valves, and a HONDATA K-pro engine-management system. Other procedure done to this car are polished cylinder-head and correction on its valve friction; and DEFI Advance cr boost.
So be very careful not to engage on a race on this car just because the looks is more of a car-show type, you never know what's inside of it.
The said will run until November 27, 2011 at the SMX Convention center, Pasay City, Philippines.
Girls Of 2011 Manila Auto Salon
Besides cars, sounds, engines, freebies, bonding with friends, and games. Car-shows will not be complete without girls or models of every exhibitors. This is one of the factors why car-shows is a must to visit, especially for guys — whether single or taken. Here in the Philippines, it is already embraced that every car-show event that you will attend, definitely there will a babes in every booth or in every event.
At the 2011 Manila Auto Salon; it is very apparent, car-show models rock the event with there gorgeous bodies and angelic faces to the point that either you will buy from them, or, you will inquire something about the exhibitor's car products or services.
Familiar face like Jem Milton—FHM Philippines sexiest babes—was present at the event, and representing one of the exhibitors. I am glad that she gave me a chance to take a picture of her.
The said event will run until November 27,2011 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, Philippines.
